Josephine Wang is AQ Dance’s Studio Principal and Director.
Ms Josephine started Classical Ballet training at the age of 6, and has fervently pursued this art form ever since. Other than completing all the Graded Ballet and Vocational Dance exams, she has also attained her Royal Academy of Dance (RAD – UK) Teaching Certificate with High Distinction. She has also attained her Commonwealth Society of Teachers of Dancing (CSTD – AUSTRALIA) Teaching Certificate, and a Diploma in Dance Education (UK).
Ms Josephine started Ballet teaching during her University days. With over 15 years of teaching experience, she has since choreographed many pieces that have won awards at multiple Competitions and Public Examinations.
Her most recent work “Libertango” won her the “Best Choreography” Award at the 2015 RAD Dance Challenge. Her original and past choreographs of “Arc-en-ciel”, “Polka”, “Fleur”, “Cinderella” and many more have won numerous 1st prizes at various competitions in Singapore. Many of her past and current students have also won various competitions and Scholarship Awards at the Annual Summer Schools held in Singapore.
Ms Josephine is a strong believer of continuous learning. She has taken great efforts to expose her students to teachings of different reputable teachers, examiners and choreographers from all walks of life in order to train them into versatile dancers that are not just restricted to vocabulary within their own grades and dance form.
Other than her Ballet teaching qualifications, she also holds a Master Degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor Degree in Engineering (Civil).
She is currently a Supervisor and Tutor for the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Classical Ballet Teaching Studies (CBTS) Program in Singapore and within the Southeast Asian region.
Ms Josephine is an integral part and well respected member of the AQ Dance Family.
BACHELOR OF ARTS (DANCE)
Sarah Elaine Tatroe is AQ Dance’s Senior Dance Instructor.
Ms Sarah has loved the stage and the art of dance since she began her training at the age of 3. While studying extensively in Ballet, Tap, Jazz and Modern Dance Forms, she excelled at dance competitions throughout the United States of America (USA). In 2010, she earned her Bachelors of Arts – Degree in Dance from Chapman University in Orange, CA – USA.
In between studying and dancing at school, Ms Sarah was a cast member at the Disneyland Resort where she performed in their shows and parades. In 2011, she was honored to join Feld Entertainment’s theatrical touring cast of “Disney Live!” where she performed in over 20 countries and served as Dance Captain for over 3 years. She is also a Certified Personal Trainer by the American Council on Exercise as well as a trained Advanced STOTT Pilates Instructor.
Since relocating to Singapore, Ms Sarah has embarked on a new journey and working as a Freelance Choreographer, Dance Instructor and Live Event Manager. She has recently collaborated with the Walt Disney Company – Southeast Asia to choreograph several meet and greet show moments in the region as well as assisted with numerous special events such as the Globe Communications (Philippines) partnership launch and “Power of Doing Good” with Jake and Sofia, among others.
Being passionate about spreading her love for dance to future generations of artists, she has also been overjoyed to share her knowledge and experience with the students of AQ Dance. As this new journey continues, she is excited to continue working with each student to give them a fun and encouraging environment to grow in their art.
Ms Sarah is an integral part and well respected member of the AQ Dance Family.
Jessica Liao is one of AQ Dance’s Senior Students and is our Dance Instructor.
Ms Jessica started dancing at a young age of 4, and started taking the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Ballet Exams when she was 14. She has completed the RAD Vocational Advanced Two syllabus and examinations in 2016.
Aside from Ballet, Ms Jessica has also been trained in Contemporary Dance in her Secondary school and Junior College years respectively. She has participated in the Singapore Youth Festival (SYF) Arts Presentations and a number of school concerts like the Arts Fest, and Aristal.
She is also currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at the National University of Singapore (NUS).
She not only enjoys working with young children, but also has a passion for teaching them, and inspiring them to do more than what they think they are capable of.
With her passion and strong interest in teaching, she has assisted in many dance classes and is currently enrolled on the Certificate of Ballet Teaching Studies Programme to become a registered RAD Ballet Teacher.
Ms Jessica is an integral part and well loved member of the AQ Dance Family.
Rachel Ng is one of AQ Dance’s Senior Students and is our Dance Instructor.
Ms Rachel has been a student of Ms Josephine (Studio Principal) since the age of 3 and is concurrently pursuing the RAD Vocational Advanced Two syllabus and examination.
She has represented AQ Dance in various competitions. She has a passion for teaching young students and hopes to make each lesson an enjoyable experience for the young ones.
Ms Rachel is an integral part and well loved member of the AQ Dance Family.
Noelle Lim is one of AQ Dance’s Senior Students and is our Assistant Dance Instructor.
Ms Noelle is concurrently pursuing both the RAD Grade Eight and the RAD Vocational Advanced 1 syllabus.
She is an avid dancer since the age of 4 and has represented AQ Dance in various performances and competitions. She loves working with children, bringing out the excitement, enthusiasm and creativity in the young ones.
Ms Noelle is an integral part and well loved member of the AQ Dance Family.
Lim Shi Min is one of AQ Dance’s Senior Students and is our Assistant Dance Instructor.
Ms Lim started ballet at the age of 4 and have been under the guidance of Ms Josephine (Studio Principal) since her RAD Grade 1 examinations. She has successfully completed all her Graded examinations with Distinction awards and has completed the RAD Advanced 2 in April 2016.
She enjoys assisting in class as she loves to see aspiring young children grow to become graceful dancers. She works well with children and helps to maintain discipline and poise in every class.
She feels that with patience and time, children will learn dance discipline while still enjoying all their classes.
Ms Lim is an integral part and well loved member of the AQ Dance Family.
ROYAL ACADEMY OF DANCE – CBTS; BACHELOR OF ARTS (DANCE); BACHELOR OF EDUCATION
Danielle Antoun is from Sydney – Australia, and commenced her dance training at the age of 3. She has studied many styles of dance, including the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Classical Ballet, Glenn Wood Tap, Jazz and Contemporary. She has also completed Fourth Grade AMEB Piano Exams.
She has had a wide variety of experience and training at The Edge Ballet Academy and has participated in workshops at Steps on Broadway, New York, as well as the Electric Safari Grooming School for Young performers, under the guidance of PJ Clarke.
She has performed at many events including the McDonald’s Performing Arts Challenge Sydney Finals, Dance Captain and Compere for RegProm Marketing & Promotions Easter and Christmas Shows both in Australia and Singapore, Disneyland Theme Park Anaheim, Carols in the Domain 2010 & 2011, and Little Miss Pin Up Fashion Shows.
Ms Danielle is a qualified RAD Registered Ballet Teacher and has completed a Bachelor of Arts (Dance) Bachelor of Education at the University of New South Wales – Australia, under the direction of John Mullins, Veronica Beattie, Adrian Van-Winkelhof and Sue Healey.
She has been teaching our students ranging from 3 Years old to Young Adults since 2014.
Ms Danielle is a well respected member of the AQ Dance Family.
ROYAL ACADEMY OF DANCE – TEACHING CERTIFICATE
Tricia Tan started dancing at the age of 4 and has since completed her Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Graded Examinations and attained her RAD Intermediate Level certification.
She currently teaches Classical Ballet and is a certified teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance.
She has also choreographed items for “I Dream” concert in 2005 and “A Mixed Bag” concert in 2010 respectively. Some of her Primary students were also chosen for the filming of the CSTD Primary Ballet syllabus video recording in 2009.
Her passion in dance and devotion to working with young children has led her to pursue her teaching career.
Ms Tricia is a well respected member of the AQ Dance Family.

ARAD; LRAD; MASTER IN CREATIVE INDUSTRIES; DIPLOMA IN TEACHING OF CLASSICAL BALLET; ROYAL ACADEMY OF DANCE CERTIFIED EXAMINER
Lindsay Ellman-Brown is AQ Dance’s Guest Instructor.
Ms Ellman-Brown is born in Harare – Zimbabwe and started her dancing career there. She danced with the National Ballet of Zimbabwe for several years before moving to London in 1985 to train as a teacher. She attended the College of the Royal Academy of Dance in London from 1985 to 1988 and attained her Diploma and Licentiate in the Teaching of Classical Ballet and taught in the UK for 2 years before returning home to Zimbabwe.
She then opened her own RAD ballet school in Harare – Zimbabwe which she ran successfully for several years. During this time , she also started teaching and choreographing for the National Ballet of Zimbabwe and was the producer and ballet mistress for numerous ballet seasons and tours.
In 1999, she successfully trained to become a Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Graded Examiner and now travels regionally and internationally for RAD.
In 2003, she moved to Australia to join the faculty at Ecole Ballet and Dance Theatre – Sydney Australia and was appointed as Head Teacher of the Junior School.
In 2008, she successfully completed her Master Degree in Creative Industries (Dance Teaching) with the Queensland University of Technology – Australia and now teaches for several schools in the Sydney – Australia area. She also conducts multiple workshops for teachers and students.
She is also currently a Dance Teacher at The McDonald College – Sydney Australia, which is a prestigious school in both the academics and the arts in Australia.

RAD CERTIFIED EXAMINER – VOCATIONAL
John Byrne is AQ Dance’s Guest Classical Ballet Instructor – November 2013.
Mr Byrne has had an extensive international career as Dancer, Teacher, Examiner and Director. Among the many positions that he has held, this includes Artistic Director and Chairman of the Board of Examiners of the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) in London – UK and Founder-Director of the SCECGS Redland Ballet & Dance Academy in Sydney – Australia.
He has a particular interest and expertise in Postural Alignment and in the Physical basis of Classical Technique.
He is the co-author of a booklet entitled “Body Basics”. This has been a standard reference text for teachers on the RAD’s teaching programmes for many years.
Mr Byrne also choreographed the dances for the RAD Vocational Intermediate Foundation and Intermediate syllabi as well as many other syllabus settings for the RAD Vocational Graded syllabi.
He has been a RAD Vocational Examiner for nearly 20 years.
In 1992, he was made a Fellow (FRAD) – RAD’s highest award for services to dance.

Helene Gowers is AQ Dance’s Guest Classical Ballet Instructor – August 2013.
Ms Gowers started dancing under the tuition of Madame Kira Bousloff and her teachers included Kiril Vasilkovski, Louis Moreno and Shelley Rae. During this time. she danced 2 seasons with the West Australian Ballet Company – Australia.
In 1978, she passed her Cecchetti Associate teaching exam with Honours.
As the Artistic Director of the Serenade Ballet Company, she was responsible for choreographing many of the Company’s Ballets and for designing costumes and sets. For the next 5 years, the Company toured Australia and held annual city seasons throughout. During this time, Ms Gowers taught in both the city and country areas.
In 1983, she established the Bunbury Academy of Dance and the Bunbury Junior Ballet Company. For the School and Company, she produced and directed many major productions (original and traditional). This included various public shopping centres’ shows twice a year. She was also invited to be Guest Classical Teacher for the state gymnastic team at the University of Western Australia Sports Department.
Ms Gowers upgraded to Licentiate in 1980 and passed her Fellowship in 1986.
She has also travelled to Europe and the World to study and observe the teaching methods of some of the world’s best teachers. This includes he Royal Ballet School, Singapore Dance Company, Australian Ballet School and the Cecchetti Centre in London – UK.
Ms Gowers now coaches all levels of the Cecchetti syllabus and travels all over Western Australia to promote the Cecchetti Method. She has choreographed dances included in the Australian Cecchetti Advanced 1 Major Syllabus.

CHAIRMAN OF CECCHETTI BALLET AUSTRALIA; CECCHETTI EXAMINER
Carole Hall is AQ Dance’s Guest Classical Ballet Instructor – October 2012.
Ms Carole commenced her training in Nairobi – Kenya, before successfully auditioning for the Royal Ballet School at the age of 10. She became one of the inaugural students at White Lodge where she trained for the next 5 years. She continued her training at the Senior School for the next 3 years during which she performed at Covent Garden in Student Performances as well as regular performances with both the Royal Ballet Co. and the Opera Co.
She successfully auditioned for both London Festival Ballet Co and Sadler’s Wells when she decided to accept the contract for the latter where she remained for three years touring throughout the British Isles and the Continent. During this time, she met and married an Australian- George Dunstan and subsequently emigrated to Australia where she commenced her studies in the Cecchetti Method. In doing so, she attained her Fellow and the Enrico Cecchetti Diploma.
Ms Carole was appointed an Examiner in 1986 ,and has since been appointed a Fellowship/ Enrico Cecchetti Diploma Examiner. She has examined throughout Australia, Korea, Malaysia Taiwan and New Zealand. She has also conducted workshops in England, Canada, Korea, Taiwan and Malaysia.
She has represented Australia at all the meetings of Cecchetti International and on completing her first term of 6 years in the position of Chairman of the Cecchetti Ballet Australia, she was re-elected in January 2008 for a further 3-Year term and was again re-elected for another 3-Year term in January 2011.
Ms Carole was awarded the Order of Australia Medal in the Queen’s Birthday Honours. This was for services to the Performing Arts and the Community. She runs her own school in the Adelaide Hills – Australia which opened in January 1973 and is still a very active school. some 40 years on.

Katherine Collom is AQ Dance’s Guest Instructor and Choreographer.
Ms Katherine received her professional training at the National Ballet School in La Habana – Cuba. During this time, she under-studied some of the most formidable Dance Instructors in the world.
Since then, she has branched out as a Performer, Ballet Instructor and Choreographer. Her work has taken her to all over Mexico, America, and Singapore.
Ms Katherine has worked with students of all ages and has created many choreography. This ranges from Classical Ballet to Contemporary Dance.
She currently resides in Singapore as a Freelance Artist and continues to work with AQ Dance in various ad-hoc dance classes and events.

BACHELOR OF ARTS (HONS IN MUSICAL THEATRE)
Elle-May Patterson is AQ Dance’s Guest Classical Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, Tap and Musical Theatre Instructor.
Ms Elle-May has studied Performing Arts since the age of 4 at the prestigious Brent Street Studios and The McDonald College in Sydney – Australia.
She has performed on Australian Idol, The Disney Channel, Australia’s Got Talent, Channel 7 Network, The Kerrie-Ann Show and many more.
She also played “Kylie” in the AFI Award winning film “The Black Balloon,” and has appeared in several television commercials.
Her stage credits include The Sydney season of Showboat, live dance tours throughout America and Asia, Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards and MTV Video Music Awards.
Having completed a Bachelor Degree of Arts (Hons) BA in Musical Theatre at LASALLE College of the Arts – Singapore, her passion lies in theatre and choreography. She continues to pursue a career in all facets of live theatre, covering both internationally and in her home country – Australia.
Ms Elle-May has also successfully choreographed multiple items for AQ Dance. Among her many works, her rapport with our students have paid off when they clinched 1st Prize for the Lyrical Item – 12 & Under and the Contemporary Item – Solo categories in the 2012 – 14th CSTD Singapore Dance Competition.

BACHELOR OF ARTS (DANCE EDUCATION)
Khoo Li Pei is AQ Dance’s Guest Choreographer – September 2012.
Ms Khoo started her Ballet training at the age of 11 and has completed the Intermediate level with both the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD – UK) and the Commonwealth Society of Teachers of Dancing (CSTD – AUSTRALIA).
Upon graduation from Nanyang Technological University – Singapore with a Bachelor of Accountancy, she taught children Ballet for a period of 5 years. Thereafter, she moved to Arizona – USA to pursue further studies in Dance Education at Arizona State University (ASU – USA).
At ASU, she studied Dance History and Philosophy, Creative Practices, Dance Pedagogy and Post-Modern Contemporary technique. She was recognized on the Dean’s List every semester and was also awarded the Special Talent Award in Dance scholarship as well as the Kathy Lindholm Lane Scholarship in Dance Education.
In May 2011, she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance (Dance Education). She was also the recipient of the ASU School of Dance Award for Outstanding Scholarship and Research.
Ms Khoo is currently a full time Dance Teacher at a public high school in Glendale, Arizona – USA.

Cecilia Wong is AQ Dance’s Studio Administrator and oversees all admin matters and reception area.
Affectionately known as “Aunty Cecilia” by all, she is often found at the front desk reception.
Aunty Cecilia looks after the well being of all students and ensures that all facilities are kept tidy and in order. She keeps an eye out for all students and maintains order in the studio. She also makes sure that the younger students are fetched by familiar guardians whenever they have finished their classes.
She also attends to the various administrative matters and keeps everyone updated on studio’s happenings and upcoming events.
Aunty Cecilia is an integral part and well respected member of the AQ Dance Family.
Joy Koh is AQ Dance’s Studio Administrator and oversees all back office admin matters.
Ms Joy works in the back office to ensure that all is in order. She liaises with all of AQ Dance’s partners and vendors. She is both reliable and trusted by all.
She oversees all Finances, Marketing and Human Resources of the studio and ensures full compliance with the various Singapore Government agencies.
She also works tirelessly in the background for the various events’ management and planning, which includes all local and international performances and competitions.
Ms Joy is an integral part and well respected member of the AQ Dance Family.
